Otech Consultants was founded in September 2013 by Brayden West and is “Your Outdoor Technical Consultants”. Predominantly operating in the Outdoor Field (but not limited to) we specialise in managing:

Otech Consultants was created with a goal to provide everyone with the opportunity to gain an appreciation of the outdoor environment while pushing personal boundaries and challenging internal limitations. This is done through a number of mediums including Team Development programs, Outdoor Education camps for students, recreational pursuits, or for the underprivileged and people with special needs.

Otech Consultants also provides specialised technical advice and safety auditing based on over 21 years of hands on technical experience in the industry.

    I wanted to let you know how appreciative we are for the coordination and facilitation of the abseiling program at Bluff Knoll and Castle Rock. Your planning and delivery to our Year 11 and 12 students was spot on, they came away with many new skills and techniques.     We employed Otech Consultants for the installation of a Bouldering Wall in our school gym. From start to finish, Otech were very helpful and professional. Brayden helped us design a bouldering wall to meet our school’s budget and requirements. The building phase went smoothly with installation being prompt and efficient.     Brayden consulted with us on our recent production of Wendy & Peter Pan. The vision included a 20m pirate ship with three 12m masts, where pirates could climb up and down. We also wanted the classic Peter Pan magic complete with cast members flying. Otech Consultants was extremely professional in its conduct with the members of the production team and cast. They actively sought out solutions in order to bring the magic to the production. Brayden was flexible with his consulting time to ensure the brief was met, which instilled confidence with all involved. Brayden was patient with bump in and training and efficient with his set up. We felt safe and secure as our young cast climbed and flew through the air. After working with Otech Consultants on this project I wouldn’t hesitate to contact him again if required in the future or to recommend his work to others.

Brayden West

Founder
Brayden West, founder of Otech Consultants has been working with clients delivering high quality outcomes for over 21 years. Having studied extensively as an outdoor educator and facilitator, he has sound knowledge in Adventure based activities, Facilitation and, Learning and Development philosophies currently being employed. Using his knowledge, an underlying philosophy of experiential learning and an outdoor background he has developed and delivered programs nationally meeting the needs and expectations of clients.

Brayden’s experience commenced in 1998 and is across a multitude of Outdoor pursuit electives. These days, while still conducting various outdoor based programs for Educational, Corporate and Recreational clients’ a lot of his time is spent consulting on Roping based activities such as; artificial Climbing Walls and Abseil Platforms, Low Ropes Course and unique Abseiling environments. Having undertaken courses in risk management, Brayden also conducts safety audits of these roping based environments. Brayden is a qualified Trainer and Assessor (Cert 4 TAE), a registered instructor with the National Outdoor Leader Registration Scheme (NOLRS), he has completed a Certificate IV of Outdoor Recreation, specialising in Bush Walking, Roping, Caving and Water Activities (Kayaking and Canoeing). Brayden’s passion and drive for the Outdoor industry has also seen him assist with the writing of the Adventure Activity Standards for the State of Western Australia, where he sat on the Technical Working Committee for the water component.
